Machine Payments Protocol (MPP)

The Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) is an open standard for machine-to-machine payments, co-authored by Stripe and Tempo. Built on HTTP 402, it lets any client — an AI agent, app, or human — pay for a service inline with its HTTP request, with no API keys or signup flow. MPP launched with mainnet on 18 March 2026.
